    The mission of the Alexandria Archives and Records Center is to preserve the public documents of the city of Alexandria government and make them available for reasearch and provide reference services for city staff. The collection begins with the late 19th century and continues to the present.

    The Pope-Leighey House

    The Pope-Leighey House was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright as a private residence in 1940. One of Wright's Usonian-style homes, the house contains a fireplace, a small kitchen and a natural air conditioning system. The house welcomes tours from March to December, Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

    Fort Ward Museum & Historic Site

    Fort Ward is the preserved system of forts and batteries built to protect Washington D.C. during the American Civil War of 1861-1865. Visitors can see the remains of the earthen fort, the Northwest Bastion, the reconstructed Officers' Hut, and Museum exhibitions.
